Yasuaki Shimizu -- Sound Installation for Robot Garden

I thought this piece was very interesting, especially how the sound and the visuals worked so well with each other. The sound is very ethereal and mystical, mixing digital with supernatural with real sounds like the humans voice. There is a lot of different panning, a consistent rhythm throughout most of the piece, adding a strong musical element to this piece of sound art.

I think the diversity of sounds and visuals are exactly what is meant to be conveyed, especially considered the content of the piece, it is a sound installation for a 'robot garden'. It definitely gives the robotic, intergalactic, 'out-of-this-world' vibes from the different sound effects and editing techniques used.

It was very interesting to listen to.

While this is an actual song, which doesn't quite fit completely into the realms of sound art, I think this piece blurs the lines between the two because it goes against many principles of modern/popular music and reaches new unexplored territory, exploring a new musical genre: hyperpop. The artist, SOPHIE, created every single sound from scratch digitally. While this piece does follow a consistent rhythm, which is an element of music but not necessarily of sound art, it bends some of the other harmonic and melodic 'rules of music,' which is why I think it can also classify as sound art.
