Week 10 Response_Anna Forbes
I chose to respond to Control Room. I thought this was a really interesting piece. I thought the abstract video/flickering squares successfully represented the sound being played. I appreciated how everything lined up, especially when the steady tones matched with the squares that didn’t flicker and glowed brighter. The flickering effect of the squares matched the tones and static of the sound. I thought the use of red in the video was also a good choice; when I think of a control room, I think of red buttons and lights. I think one main purpose of the artist was to physically show the sound.
