I chose to draw my favorite sounds, the ones that make me the most nostalgic. This includes the sound of crunching dead leaves under your feet, the rain (especially against a metal roof), windchimes, and the soft, static sound after a record finishes playing music.
I've been recording with my phone. My Google Pixel does this pretty cool thing and makes all my recordings automatically available online. So far, I've recorded about 26 different audio clips. I'm really struggling with how to put them together. I've collected a lot of sounds I hear on a daily basis to make an abstract assortment of sounds that make up my day. I can't decide if this will be the idea I settle on, or if I want to try to narrow it down to a more precise "theme." I'm also considering recording a lot of water sounds to make a more calm audio.
At this point, I've started experimenting in Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition, but nothing has really come to fruition yet. It's a lot of playing around with the effects and software to help me achieve my direction.
UPDATE 10/31
I scrapped my original idea and decided to go for an abstracted "water" theme. I recorded some sounds such as bubble noises, popping, water splashing/dripping/spraying, as well as putting my phone in a plastic bag and running it under the faucet. I am now arranging things in Premiere Pro and changing volumes, cutting sounds, adding effects, etc.
I am also going beyond Premiere and editing some of my audio files in Adobe Audition to add interesting effects and more!
