Week7_Response_RogerFHamelinII
From what I could tell the purpose of this weeks' series of videos was to cause me night terrors, and the video I'm responding to "Primarily speaking" does nothing to part from the rule of the week. It goes without saying that I found the video off putting, and somewhat disturbing. Regardless I was at least somewhat intrigued, even if every second of watching it sent a small chill down the back of my neck. The visual elements themselves were tolerable, and somewhat pleasant to look at actually. With dual videos playing in a weird spectrum of various colors. The audio elements of the video are where the piece gets off putting, starting with a distorted twinkle twinkle little star, and a person speaking in a very familiar tone with the viewer in a manner I found unnerving.

I have to agree about the "night terror" aspect of these videos; all of them seemed to be off-putting--not in a scary way, but in a disturbing and uncomfortable way. The video you chose wasn't really disturbing visually like how the others may have been, but it was more audibly disturbing. The tone of the person talking in the beginning was unpleasing to listen to, and the monotone voice that continued after was not much better. As a viewer, I did not enjoy watching it either-- but the imagery wasn't very troubling.
ReplyDeleteThe imagery of the video was captivating and paired with the audio and what was being said gives you a all-round unique experience. From this week's video selection this was the most intriguing one without being to hard to watch.
