Week_5_Response_Raven_Ross

 For this week's video response I chose Doug Aitken Migration. When we started watching this video in class I was immediately intrigued because of the standing on the animals' habitats being endangered because of our actions towards them. There were multiple animals in motels rooms, and their habitat would be disrupted to build a business like this one. Them being in these rooms and acting as if this is normal for them to be in this space, and they have to adapt. For example, the beaver swimming in the bathtub and drinking the water from the faucet and the deer that is hungry in the fridge for food. The presenting screens are in the shape of billboards, and I feel as if this is used to spread a message. The camera's stillness adds a sense of seriousness, and the panning motion shows the whole room gives a fullness to the film. Zooming in and out conveys a message to us as a piece of them as a whole as the camera moves out.
