Matthew Barney, “The Cremaster Cycle” (1994-2002)
So ironically iv already had the privilege to see this artist work from a previous teacher. and to be honest it grew on me if for nothing but the shock factor personally the idea of incorporating the multiple locations in to the piece was great. while the meaning of the piece is almost impossible to understand to normal people and having tried to understand from Q and A with Mathew barney, I have only come away with more questions.
I agree that the meaning is almost impossible to understand; I thought the work was very interesting, especially the costumes on the people. But, overall, I was a little disturbed.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! The overall flow of the video is hard to follow, but I believe that may have been the artist's intention.
