Week 7 _ Response _ Landon Jones
For this week's video I chose to watch Primarily Speaking, by Gary Hill. The video starts off by showing rainbow colored bars (as if a tv is receiving no signal) and two small boxes showcasing their own separate videos. Later in the video, we can hear a male voice begin to narrate seemingly random dialogue. The overall flow of the video is hard to follow as the dialogue and the showcased videos have no connection to each other. However, I believe this may have been an intended choice as the incoherent nature of the overall video can be reflective of the "no-signal" tv theme. We as the viewer can only wait and watch as we hope to eventually find a signal, or in this case a coherent message to follow.
I agree that the overall flow of the video is hard to follow, but I thought that the audio and video themes matched well, as the narrator talks of coming away and being adventurous. The videos also show scenes of roads, the outdoors, etc.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry but I disagree. The video shows clearly that the focuses is on the connection between the viewer and the entity behind the camera so i feel the video and audio are connected
