Week 4_Response_Annecia Thompson

 

        For this week, I watched the Phil Collins The Meaning of Style. To me, the video was short, but it manages to include lots of symbolism and visuals that kept me intrigued and easy to digest the suggested meaning of the video. It was interesting to see how the men in the video dressed similar, as if to blend in together in some sort of faceless crowd. 

        However, with the release of the butterflies, it adds individuality to the people in the video. It catches my eye and draws me into the one who is covered in butterflies. It adds style to the person, like the title of the video would suggest. To me, it feels like it tells that even if you might feel like you blend into the crowd of your community, you still manage to stand out in your own unique way. It can be your personality, or your clothes, it all adds to a style that is unique to you.
