Week 4 Response: Anna Forbes

 I chose to respond to The Meaning of Style. I really liked this video. In the video, several men are sitting in what appears to be some kind of courtyard; some are playing cards, some are listening to music. In the beginning of the video, one man releases butterflies from a box. Some butterflies sit on the heads/necks of the men. The men act very casual during this whole situation, as if this is normal. I really enjoyed the camera technique in this video. The camera is very still, not shaky, and pans left to right and up and down. There are cuts in the video, and at some moments the scene is shown from above. I believe the purpose of this video might be to show that these men are in style, and that getting butterflies to land on you while acting very cool and calm is stylish. I am not sure of a deeper meaning, but I’m very interested to find out.
