Project 2_Progress_Erin Dixon
The initial start was putting together my collected footage into a coherent sequence. I wanted to start the video to somewhat how I would start my day. One of the first sounds I hear in the morning is the sound of my car blinker, so I wanted to incorporate that. I found a royalty free audio clip for background music that I then transitioned into which will then play for the remainder of the video.
After getting what I had of footage into a sequence that I liked, I tried experimenting with layers. I sped up a clip of me painting and layered it on top of itself from a different point in the footage.
I had an idea after being demonstrated how to scale and move clips around the screen. I used numerous videos that I had taken on my phone of my pets/friends/myself to then create an almost chaotic collage. It is almost like a homage to my life with how crazy and lovely it can be at times.
I recorded more footage and wanted to try quick cut transitions. For instance, I timed each transition to change according to when my foot landed so that the change in time in the footage was more pleasing to look at.
With my new footage, I again manipulated the video with the use of layers. I tried also flipping the clip and fading between the different points to make it more visually interesting. I believe it is nice intermission between clips that don't have much visual interest.
I replaced one of the starting clips with new footage that I felt fit better. I tweaked some transitions to make the m fit better and flow more smoothly.
I had thirty seconds of footage that I still needed, so I recorded new footage that I then edited into the video. My video was essentially done at this point, so I fixed any minor problems before uploading my finished project.
