Project 2 Progress: Anna Forbes
This is my first progress post for project 2. For this project, I have taken a series of videos of my cat enjoying himself, sleeping and relaxing indoors. In these two screenshots, I have made cuts in my videos and arranged them in the order I thought looked best. I added a dark blue color filter over my video to give a relaxing, calming effect. I also added a vignette that lasts throughout the whole video. I have also added classical strings music. The song is very slow and relaxing. I had experimented with different, more upbeat songs, but I decided that a very slow and calming song would be best. The color filter and music add to the relaxing effect of the video. The cat, Goose, is shown very peaceful and happy.
This is my second progress post for project 2. I have added a title for my video, starting with a template effect and editing the typeface and transitions. This is shown in the first screenshot. I have added several more effects, including zoom, scale/position, speed, cropping, repetition, and cross dissolve video transitions. The repetition effect can be seen in the second screenshot. I have slowed down some clips to add to the relaxing effect of the overall video. The fading transitions also add to the soft, peaceful feel of the video. The theme of my video overall is that cats can often live "the best life," stress free, peaceful, loving, and relaxed. Goose is a kitty that has been well-loved, and it shows in this video. The title of the video, "Slow Blinks," represents the love he has within him. They say that a cat shows their love, contentment, and relaxation by blinking slowly. Goose can be seen doing slow blinks in different parts of the video.
