Week Three_Video Response_Annecia Thompson

     This week, I decided to watch Vito Acconci's Theme Song. I decided to watch it because I heard that it was disturbing, and being a fan of horror, I thought that was intriguing to watch it. However, it was disturbing in another sense that I wasn't expecting. Actually, the video was extremely creepy to witness that I had such a hard time sitting through the whole nine minutes of the content. 

    There is something about watching the artist beg for the viewer to come over, that he's so lonely, and keep trying desperately to get the honest to come to him is unnerving. His whole demeanor, being so close to the viewers face, and how he talks about the person watching that it gives a queasy feeling. It can hit too close to home as this video could even be linked to sexual coercion near the end as he talks about how we both need it. Still, I know this is the feeling the artist would have wanted to come from it, so the whole display does a successful job at sending the vibes of disgust and disturbed.
