Week 2 Video Response_Annecia Thompson

     Let's talk about Magnetic Shows by Francis Alÿs. The concept was pretty cut and dry to me, which was watching a man walk around town and see what kind of metals his shoes can pick up. However, it helps to understand what continuous shots look like as we continue to follow the man around for long periods of time without cutting away. Of course, there was some splices, but for the most part, the scenes were continuous and barely edits to show anything else besides the shoes and the man. Still, I wish I could have seen this video in some better quality than what it is presented on Youtube. The concept of magnetic shoes are interesting, however I could barely see it in action besides the kids testing the shoes out for themselves. Besides that, all I could see is a man walking alongside humming that would come in and out throughout the duration of the video.
